JOHN SISK & SON APPOINTED TO £12 BILLION SCAPE CONSTRUCTION FRAMEWORK

SCAPE, one of the UK’s leading public sector procurement authorities, has selected John Sisk & Son as a partner on its new £12bn SCAPE Construction framework.

Sisk is the sole contractor for Lot 7, which covers the largest projects within the framework, valued at £75m and over. Providing construction services for public sector projects across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the new four-year construction framework,
which commences in September of this year, will give Sisk the capacity to deliver projects at pace and to a total value of £1.5bn.

With a mission to accelerate essential projects and deliver them to the highest possible standard, over 1,000 public bodies have placed their trust in SCAPE’s direct award approach. This framework is open to all public bodies, including those in sectors such as education, housing, social care, leisure, blue light, health and social care, offices, transport, military, recycling and waste centres, industrial and commercial buildings and other public sector operational buildings and establishments.

Paul Brown, COO, UK Construction and Civil Engineering at Sisk said: “There is no doubt that SCAPE is one of the leading frameworks shaping the built environment and communities in the UK today. We are immensely proud to have been selected as a framework delivery partner for SCAPE, and look forward to working as one driving innovation, best value, and community enrichment.

“A highly adaptable and versatile partner, our range of capabilities cover design, engineering, facilities management, construction and more, with recent expansion across the UK seeing us establish ourselves further in key sectors such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Data. This is reflected in our most recent experience with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust, University of Birmingham and Manchester City Council.”

Bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and people to the framework, Sisk are well placed in supporting SCAPE, and the public sector, in their efforts to address the climate emergency. In 2020 they became the first construction business in the UK to utilise Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel, trialling its use on operated plant as part of the Northstowe delivery for Homes England. Following the successful trial of the renewable fuel, Sisk recently announced it will use HVO as an alternative to gas oil across all new projects in the UK from 1st September 2021.

Adrian Hill, acting deputy managing director at SCAPE, said: “We are pleased to welcome John Sisk & Son to SCAPE Construction who join an exceptional team of delivery partners. Sisk come with a wealth of experience and are committed to helping clients deliver their ambitions for the communities they serve with social value and sustainability sitting at the heart of every project.”
