JOHN PAUL CONSTRUCTION GIVES IRISH WHEELCHAIR ASSOCIATION’S SPORTS CENTRE A NEW LOOK

Irish Wheelchair Association members to benefit from new facilities

Irish Wheelchair Association recently celebrated the refurbishment of the superb facilities in the Dr. Oliver Murphy Sports Centre, Clontarf, Dublin. The refurbishment was completed by charity partner John Paul Construction and gives the interior of the ground floor space a much-needed new look for the benefit of its many members and visitors. The work included the installation of a new reception area, new flooring and a paint upgrade of the interior area.

With the facility serving many Irish Wheelchair Association members and the local community for a variety of activities including a full accessible and inclusive gym, a full-sized sports hall for a wide range of wheelchair sports and other sports clubs, the new look gives a warm welcome to everyone who visits.

Commenting on the announcement, Rosemary Keogh, CEO of Irish Wheelchair Association said “We, at Irish Wheelchair Association, are delighted that John Paul Construction came on board and completed this much-needed work at our Sports Centre. Fitness is a key aspect in our members’ lives and this work will make the centre far more accessible for them. No doubt our members will really like the changes.”

Nicky Hamill, Director of Sport at IWA Sport said: “The Dr Oliver Murphy Sports Centre is a well-established sports facility in North Dublin that has played home to so many of our sports and activities for many years. There is something for everyone in these fantastic facilities; be it a gym work out or team sports, that caters for the young to elite athletes, from local schools and sports clubs to our own wheelchair sport national teams. We really have something for everyone. I’d like to sincerely thank the team at John Paul Construction for supporting us with this much needed upgrade and facelift.

The IWA Sports Centre Hall is available for public hire while the IWA Sport Centre Gym is open to new members older & young.
