GEORGE QUINN LTD – TOP STAIR PARTS TRENDS 2023

George Quinn Ltd is a company which has consistently adapted to the needs of the staircase and builders’ providers markets. By monitoring its product offerings at all times ensures customers have the latest stair parts designs to address ever changing market trends.

Glass has been popular with interior designers for a number of Years and it is easy to see why. Choosing glass for a staircase means bringing light in to the home creating a sense of space throughout the hallway. The Urbana glass collection has an easy to fit glass panel with a modern handrail and base rail available in both white oak and walnut. These can be used with various newel post designs from the basic square collection, the Boyne chamfered collection or the Lisbon straight line collection to name a few. This collection is available ex-stock and can be used on any closed string staircase with a pitch of between 38 and 42 degrees.

One of the fastest growing trends of 2023 has undoubtedly been the re-imagined metal spindle. Not in the ornate form of past metal designs but favoured by architects and designers with simple straight lines and geometric shapes. The Matrix metal collection began with the Plain round metal collection but has since evolved to include various square section spindles, all with a black satin powder coated finish. Metal has a striking presence in a staircase but when combined with wood it also provides a very dynamic combination.

Although the modern trends of Glass and Metal have impacted strongly on staircase designs, the combination of natural wood with white painted spindles remains the most popular of all. This mix of materials allows so many variations from the modern design of the Dublin collection to the traditional elements of the Boyne chamfered collection and the Boston pin top spindles. Regardless of which spindle or newel post is used, this dark and white mix provides a timeless look which will compliment any hallway for years to come.

Top trends are great for inspiration and ideas. But when choosing a staircase, we recommend that you take into consideration your own taste in design and the style of your entire home. If not, you risk having a “latest trend” that doesn’t suit you or your home.
