This allows the use of CAD drawings either supplied by the customer or drawn up by our team. This technology enables us to manufacture bespoke designs for not only the construction sector but also for the furniture sector such as hotel and bar fit out. One such project was for our joinery customer, Southwood Manufacturers Ltd. The Cork based joinery had a request for a large feature newel for a staircase which they were producing for a client.

The newel was to be 230mm in diameter, walnut to match the handrail and needed to contrast with their customers choice of the Achill painted spindle collection, add a unique and dramatic focal point to the staircase and hallway. The newel detail was to incorporate both traditional turning combined with a modern octagonal centre and base, and importantly the top of the post had to match the profile of the handrail to ensure a perfect match when the two connect.
