FOSROC EXHIBITS AT THE ALL IRELAND WATER & WASTEWATER EXPO

The Fosroc Ireland team will be exhibiting on 23 November 2023 at the Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin for the All-Ireland Water & Wastewater Expo conference and exhibition. The event brings together key stakeholders from the municipal, industrial and domestic water & wastewater community to discuss and debate the key issues facing our water & wastewater sector.

In addition to the team on Stand 31, Specification Manager for ROI & NI Ian Fogarty will be taking the opportunity to speak at the conference to raise awareness of the construction principles behind Fosroc water industry solutions amongst utilities companies, engineers and project managers. The topic of his presentation is ‘Concrete Repairs for Water Retaining Structures – Working to a Standard’. He will be looking at the importance of carrying out works using a recognised standard and how this can extend the life of the structure, while ensuring that all materials used are suitable for use with potable water. The focus will be on two standards, BS:1504 – Protection and Repair of Concrete Structures and BS:6920 – Effect on Drinking Water of Non-Metallic Materials and Products.

Under the National Development Plan which sets out Ireland’s over-arching investment strategy, multi-annual funding worth €6 billion will be provided under between now and 2026 to bring the water infrastructure and treatment facilities up to world class standards. The investment will help boost individual projects such as building new water and wastewater treatment plants, upgrading existing networks, and also includes national programmes like leakage reduction or disinfection programmes.

The event addresses the increased demand for high quality water needed to meet stringent EU environmental quality standards and regulations, something that affects a broad range of sectors from pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical and textiles to electronics and precision engineering. ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) and Sustainability concerns are leading to significant investments in water efficiency and wastewater treatment, and waste to energy programmes. Leveraging knowledge from building material manufacturers like Fosroc is key to approaching many of the construction challenges faced by water companies.
