ACTAVO FIRST COMPANY TO WIN EXCELLENCE IN SAFETY AWARD

One of two awards at the annual NISO Award

Actavo has received the ‘Excellence in Safety’ Award at the 29th Annual All Ireland Occupational Health & Safety Awards 2020, which took place online on Friday 22 January 2021. This is a new award in recognition of more than 15 consecutive years at distinction level or above. Actavo is the first and only recipient of this new award.

This is a major endorsement of Actavo’s relentless commitment to health and safety across its operations; the company’s continued high standards of safety for its workforce; and its aim to become an industry leader for outstanding safety performance.

The awards, run by NISO (National Irish Safety Organisation) and NISG (Northern Ireland Safety Group), recognise high standards of occupational health and safety demonstrated by businesses on the Island of Ireland. In a second award at the event, the company picked up the prestigious Silver Award for 2020, in recognition of its
rigorous health and safety standards and excellent results.

Willie Ryan, Global EHS AND IT Director said: “On behalf of the wider team we are very proud to be recognised with a new award that acknowledges our consistent strive for excellence over a multi-year period. Every team across the organisation deserves credit for this recognition, because on a company-wide basis, we embed our core value ‘live safety’ into our culture and operations to the extent that is part of the DNA of every aspect of our service delivery and how we work together as a team.”

Actavo
Harry Galvin, President of NISO, said: “Actavo’s achievements in the safety awards, particularly over the last few years, have been outstanding, having won the Supreme, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. This year, winning the Silver Award and also becoming the first company to win the Excellence in Safety award for being at distinction level or higher for in excess of 15 years, Actavo has shown its commitment to pursuing the highest standards of safety for its staff, customers and the general public.”

Across Actavo, safety, health, environmental and quality performance (SHEQ) are viewed as core business values and this ethos is evident as Actavo has been a consistent Category 1 winner at these awards since 2006. In 2019 the company received a Higher Distinction Award; a Bronze award in 2018; and the Supreme Award in 2015 as Sierra (now Actavo | Network Solutions).
