EIGHT STRATEGIC APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED AT ESS MODULAR GROUP

Leading MMC provider bolsters management team with a number of significant senior appointments across the group

Leading modular construction and MMC company, ESS Modular Group, has announced eight new strategic appointments to support the continued growth of the group across the UK and Ireland. The appointments will bolster the existing management team in its drive towards continued product innovation and sustainable construction. The company is also moving to a new UK Headquarters in Trafford Park, Manchester to support its continued growth.

The appointments include a number of highly experienced industry professionals who will take up the following roles:

Emily King, Divisional Director, Spatial Initiative
Bill Marsh, Head of Production, ESS Modular Group
Karen Morley, Director of HR, ESS Modular Group

Faisul Naqui, Head of IT, ESS Modular Group

John Tracey, Chairman, ESS Modular Group
John is a highly experienced Chairman, Non-Executive Director and Coach. An engineer, he has 25 years’ experience as a Venture Capital investor in international companies headquartered in Ireland. He was CEO of Trinity Venture Capital and its successor, TVC Holdings plc, from 1997 to 2014. He is a director, past and present, of over 30 companies, including two listed public companies. He was responsible for investments in over 20 companies. He has proven expertise, at Board level over the past 30 years, in raising equity; developing management teams; and assisting companies to solve problems/accelerate growth. John currently works as an adviser to a number of high potential companies.


Andy Shaw, Operations Director, ESS Modular Group
Andy Shaw has worked in the construction sector for almost three decades and has significant expertise in managing change at an organisational level to support company growth. As Operations Director for the ESS Modular Group, he will oversee the delivery of all sector projects within the business and will have a focus on delivering operational excellence. Andy was formerly Operations Director at Styles & Wood, part of the Extentia Group. He played a key role in founding the specialist construction company Spatial Initiative, a joint venture between ESS Modular and Styles & Wood.

Emily King, Divisional Director, Spatial Initiative
Emily will take up the role of Divisional Director at Spatial Initiative, the specialist integrated construction company fully acquired by ESS Modular in 2020. Emily joins from Mid Group where she was Client Solutions Director. With a Masters’ degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, she has previously held roles for leading construction consultants; Arup and Mott MacDonald. Emily is a Director of the Offsite Alliance and co-chair of the Manufacturing Workstream for the Construction Leadership Council.

Bill Marsh, Head of Production, ESS Modular Group
Bill is an expert in MMC and modular manufacturing having held a number of senior positions focussing on improving output, quality, and component modularisation internationally. As Head of Production at ESS Modular, Bill will be responsible for the management and standardisation of all factory processes and procedures and will oversee the delivery of a new UK facility. He joins from Swan Housing Association where he was responsible for the implementation of a modular manufacturing strategy for the delivery of social and affordable housing.

Karen Morley, Director of HR, ESS Modular Group
Karen has extensive experience in the Construction, Service and Manufacturing sectors and will drive the people agenda at board level across the Group. Karen was formerly HR Director for The Extentia group and Styles&Wood group PLC for 14 years and she holds a degree in Accounting and Economics and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.

Warren Donnelly, Director of Compliance, ESS Modular Group
Warren is a skilled Compliance and Health & Safety professional with vast experience working in the construction and manufacturing industries in both Ireland and the UK. In this role he will establish and lead compliance operational strategies across the Group. Warren holds health and safety qualifications from University College Dublin and the British Safety Council.

Jonathan Airey, Head of Product Development, ESS Modular Group
In this new role, Jonathan will promote design standardisation throughout the business and will focus on developing new modular products in the residential and housing markets. Jonathan joins from Bouygues Batiment International Modular where he was Senior Modular Design Manager. With a degree in Architecture & Building Studies, he has previously held Principal Design Management roles for leading national main contractors; Bouygues UK; Morgan Sindall and Carillion Building.


Faisul Naqui, Head of IT, ESS Modular Group
Faisul has over 20 years of experience working in the IT industry and has been working with ESS for over 10 years in an external consultancy role. In this new role, he will oversee the use of Information technology (IT) within the group and lead the company’s IT strategy to ensure that all systems necessary to support its operations and objectives are in place. Faisul holds a computer science degree from University College Dublin and holds industry qualifications from Microsoft, Cisco, HP, Dell, and many more.
