SISK AND QUINTAIN REACH FOR THE SKY AT WEMBLEY PARK

London, Thursday 22nd November 2018 – John Sisk & Son (“Sisk”) and Quintain today topped out the highest point to date at Wembley Park. The building known as Block G, is one of seven in plot E03, set to bring forward some 750 new homes at Wembley Park, the majority of which will be for rent.

Block G will deliver 216 apartments across 139,000 sq ft, and will form part of what will be known as Canada Gardens (plot E03), a key part of the 85 acre regeneration of Wembley Park.

The latest residential block will include 216 new homes, across a range of tenure, of which 25% will be affordable and will include a super lobby, residents lounge and a roof top garden. The homes, spread across 25 floors, will offer unbeatable views across London and the surrounding area, and include 36 three bedroom homes, all with access to the gardens with something for everyone, from allotments to interactive play areas for children. 162 homes within Block G will be build to rent and will be managed by Tipi, Quintain’s residential rental management brand.

Built to accommodate coach parking at ground level for event days at Wembley Stadium, the design process has afforded the seven buildings at Canada Gardens private access to a two and half acre podium garden built on top of the 81 space coach park. Plot E03 is the 9th project awarded to Sisk by Quintain at Wembley Park, and the latest building to be topped out, making it the tallest constructed building to date on site. The contract for construction at Canada Gardens, plot E03, is also the largest contract ever signed at Wembley Park (£211m), and was awarded to Sisk in November 2017.

This will be Sisk’s 9th project at Wembley Park in a productive 13-year history of working with Quintain in transforming the area. During this period, Sisk have successfully delivered 475 homes at the Emerald Garden development, London Designer Outlet, the Hilton London Wembley Hotel and the reconfiguration and refurbishment of the Grade 2 listed Wembley Arena now the SSE Arena, Wembley.

There have been 834 people employed as part of the construction of the concrete frame/superstructure with 32,000 m3 total volume of concrete and an average 550 m3 poured every week, on plot E03. There are 22 supply chain partners currently working on the development with over 800 operatives on site at present. Over 4,075 people have been employed on the construction to date.

As part of Sisk’s and Quintain’s commitment to community engagement and educating the next generation, 30 apprentice opportunities have been made available through the construction of Plot E03, with 18 spaces already filled. 35% of workers at Plot E03 are local labour, which peaked at 50% during the concrete frame construction.

Construction on Canada Gardens is due to complete in 2020.
